draws serious acclaim at IDEF.

Tallinn and Istanbul, July 5, 2017 – today Apstec Systems™ (Apstec™) and AKBA Technology & Defense Industries Inc. (AKBA) are delighted to announce the successful and exciting reception of Human Security Radar® (HSR®) at IDEF’17 in Istanbul, Turkey. Delegates attended the 13th International Defence Industry Fair from the Turkish government, as well as professionals from 110 countries worldwide. In addition to introducing HSR to the Turkish market, IDEF proved an opportunity to engage with potential customers and partners from numerous other countries. HSR’s unique capabilities and relevance drew acclaim from many in attendance, including the Turkish Defence Minister, Mr. Fikri Işık, who Tweeted “The world's most advanced suicide bomb detection system, capable of detecting both solid and liquid explosives even in grams of weight is at IDEF'17”. HSR also featured on a number of Turkish mainstream media channels, including Turkish CNN, which demonstrated the technology’s threat detection and people scanning capability live on air (see YouTube link below). The successful launch at IDEF is part of a program implemented by AKBA to introduce HSR to the Turkish market which has resulted in significant outcomes including a number of extremely high profile pilot installations and demonstrations in Turkey and further afield.

The security of crowded places is fast becoming an issue of great concern throughout the world with the regularity and proximity of terrorist incidents a constant reminder of the threat posed by extremism. For many years Turkey has suffered frequent terrorist incidents and remains a central target for many terrorist organizations that have recently accelerated their attacks using suicide bombers in the region. Accordingly, Turkey has recognized the need to put in place innovative solutions to fight against terrorism to address the gaps and weaknesses in traditional security measures.

“At AKBA Technology and Defense Industries, our primary objective is to bring this system to Turkey for the continued existence and security of our country. We believe that Human Security Radar will deliver a new dimension in fight against terror”, says Sirzat Balin, Co-Founder of AKBA. “AKBA’s goal is to bring the new generation security solutions to our country. Essentially we strive to provide and produce tailor-made solutions for the requirements of our customers in the public and private sectors by bringing niche security and defence technologies to our country, particularly in the protection of border regions, pipelines, refineries, and similar critical areas”.
